Nueva trilogía de Brandon Sanderson para el 2018

Delacorte Press ha anunciado la adquisición de una nueva trilogía de Brandon Sanderson, bajo el nombre Apocalypse Guard.

La nota de prensa reza así:

The Apocalypse Guard series is set in a world parallel to that of the Reckoners, and an organization of superpowered individuals is at its center. Their collective objective is to save doomed planets, until the day something goes horribly wrong and it is up to one young member of the guard to fix things before time runs out for her and the planet she calls home.

Publication of the first book in the series is planned for spring 2018.

Aún falta mucho, pero teniendo en cuenta el ritmo al que escribe este autor, lo mismo ya lo tiene todo escrito y reescrito. Seguiremos informando.

C.J. Cherryh nombrada Gran Maestra de la Ciencia Ficción

Ya es oficial. C.J. Cherryh, la renombrada escritora de Cyteen y Downbelow Station ha sido nombrada Gran Maestra de la Ciencia Ficción por la SFWA.

Sus primeras declaraciones fueron:

“I never expected this. I’m honored to join the ranks of so many illustrious writers. I have a lot of books left to write, a lot of books I want to write, stories I want to tell. I thank my publishers, who keep me in print—I thank my agent, as well. I thank everybody, profoundly, who gives me the chance to do that. And I plan to keep the books coming.”

Portada y sinopsis de Invasive

Aquí os traigo la portada y la sinopsis de la nueva novela de Chuck Wendig, que está alcanzado niveles “sandersonianos” de publicación. Parece un thriller, al estilo de Zer0es, aunque la información es escasa.

Hannah Stander is a consultant for the FBI—a futurist who helps the Agency with cases that feature demonstrations of bleeding-edge technology. It’s her job to help them identify unforeseen threats: hackers, AIs, genetic modification, anything that in the wrong hands could harm the homeland.

Hannah is in an airport, waiting to board a flight home to see her family, when she receives a call from Agent Hollis Copper. “I’ve got a cabin full of over a thousand dead bodies,” he tells her. Whether those bodies are all human, he doesn’t say.

What Hannah finds is a horrifying murder that points to the impossible—someone weaponizing the natural world in a most unnatural way. Discovering who—and why—will take her on a terrifying chase from the Arizona deserts to the secret island laboratory of a billionaire inventor/philanthropist. Hannah knows there are a million ways the world can end, but she just might be facing one she could never have predicted—a new threat both ancient and cutting-edge that could wipe humanity off the earth.
